Free stuff for a good home!
( This Page is Under Construction)
Who said there’s no such thing as a free puppy? There is a TON of free software on the Internet. Some are excellent, but others are not exactly masterpieces, to put it kindly…
The list below contains a small list of free, (or nearly free) software I have personally tested over the years. Please remember, however, that people have spend a lot of hours writing these programs. If you can spare a buck or a “thank you” note, please let them that you appreciate their hard work.
This is by no means a comprehensive list. It is just a way for me to spread the word about the good stuff out there.
Enjoy!

Simply the BEST Web Server. Period. Complicated if you are not familiar with computers, but definetely worth learning if you are serious about this web business…
If you would like to try Apache but have no clue of where to start, try XAMPP. It is an easier to use bundle that includes Apache, Filezilla, MySQL, PHP, Perl, Mercury Mail and a bunch of other stuff…
WordPress is an elegant, well-designed web publishing system built on PHP and MySQL, licensed under the GPL. WP is extremely user-friendly and adaptable, with thousands of plugins, ‘widgets’, and templated freely distributed on the web. Gotta love it.
(Incidentally, this site was developed using WordPress … and THANK YOU BytesForAll for the wonderful Atahualpa WP Theme!).
OFFICE
Although it is tough to beat MS-Office, Open Office can be a good replacement, if you choose to take a stand and save the 500 bucks.
One big drawback: No Outlook replacement. I’m still looking for that…
